New Wheels!

Picked this up a couple of days ago, I predict a long future around the globe and my table.
P.S. It took Google about 5 minutes to fix my problem, which means it was me, that's ME, a.k.a. fat fingered thickey boy.

Problems

I've trying to upload photo's but I appear to be evil so I can't which is very frustrating. Hopefully google will sort this so I can show you stuff.

Backstory

OK I lied about posting the next day ;) anyway his name is William Granite, his battle tactic of 'Bullet, Bayonet and then the Boot' had put him on course for Knighthood and Generals rank then came the day he was asked to put down a miners strike. Within days the pressure on the Government was such that although they agreed that communists, anarchists and foreigners deserved to be treated that way the victims were still British, so the Colonel was sent to Africa where he could not hurt any one (other than the locals) and could still be recalled for further dispatch of his skills. He immediately went native and honed his skills further by commanding the armies of a local King. The War Office know about this and also know (roughly) where he is, they allow him to continue, after all he buys all his weapons from them.

The Colonel

I brought these figures from Eureka a few years ago and they sat in my lead mountain waiting for me to do something with them. Then came the Christchurch earthquake and a hurried trip up the country, while waiting for my transfer to come through I had plenty of time to paint and out they came.

While I was happy with the result (no golden demons on my mantlepiece) I couldn't really find a use for them then it occurred to me that one of the  figures from Pulp Figures 'Rugged sons of the Empire' pack looked very similar so I dug him out and Lo! I now have the Colonel standing as well as at rest.
I am working on the finer parts of his back story which I should be able to post tomorrow.

Reasons

It's been a while now, a lot longer than I thought, I've been sick, my wife has been sick even our son has been sick which is something he normally do. But I'm back now and the camera battery is on charge and to celebrate my un-interupted afternoon in the mancave I'll do some photos of my stuff.

Motivation

I finally escape the curse of real life! let some blogging commence! no more Lodge meetings! (until tomorrow)
So, while I have plenty of figures my terrain is sadly lacking so I took some boards from an abandoned gaming table project and some artists board that has been sitting around for a while now and tried to get creative

I decided to go for a walled villa sort of thing with a very open approach to which period I'll use.

And there it is - so far sort of thing - The creases in it come from having my workbench stool dropped on it- my fault not a cats, now I need to fill the bloody thing.

This is where it happens, it's a bit cleaner than it normally is and doesn't have a cat drinking my brush water but otherwise it's where I spend my time.

My random thoughts on Wargaming, Freemasonry and other stuff. More to follow when I work out what I am doing.
